Less

There’s less to remember now, up here in the mountains, not as many words or memories. Afternoons pass in silence and my thoughts aren’t always describable; I try to listen for love and want for peace.

Snow falls from somewhere close by, perhaps god is the smoke rising from a hidden cabin at an elevation not as distant once presumed. I donned the snow shoes that my mom bought me for Hanukkah, but then ventured up the trail in just my boots; up here in the mountains there’s less to encumber each footstep.

The snowfall helps to accumulate my unabridged. Silence to simplify meandering run-ons into something that I actually want to say; stillness all melts into I love you.

My Experience

    Writer And Pet Caretaker

    Millville, Pennsylvania Animal Resource Center
    July 2018 – present

  • - Win Win - I got Ani the beast-boxer mix and an opportunity to work for the Animal Resource Center. Located near Bloomsburg University I'll be writing for the shelter and Pet-Finding software and working to hands-on facilitate the recuperation and preparation of hard luck animals into their "forever home."

    Retired Social Studies Teacher

    Hatboro-Horsham School District
    September 1992 – August 2017

  • - I had the privilege and pleasure of working for 25 years at Hatboro-Horsham public high school teaching AP American History, Political Science, Civics, and World Cultures. As the recipient of several individual awards in education my reputation grew as an advocate for student autonomy and acceptance. I earned a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and contributed engaging innovations which helped shape several academic, emotive, and athletic institutions in my district. I worked diligently to encourage students to accept and understand their own characters and share their hearts and hallways with a "world of difference."

    Award Winning Author

Formerly/Occasionally known as: H. Boris Timberg
    January 2013 – present

  • - My discovery of creative nonfiction through my professors at Wilkes University MFA was not only important in a literary sense but also for my own personal peace. Truth is so potent and sharing it is hazardous; if a reader becomes bored then accuracy has accomplished very little. But if like an ancient river a narrative meanders, or somersaults towards appreciation then its value earns interest with every sentence.

 Ed Abbey:

"May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.

Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit, and as vital to our lives as water and good bread.

Growth for the sake of growth is the ideology of the cancer cell."
